What’s the weirdest movie you’ve ever watched? There are weird movies. There are surreal movies. And then there is Naked Lunch, a movie that makes you wonder whether the filmmakers were on drugs, whether you should be on drugs to understand it, or whether the entire point is […]
There is something strangely philosophical about waking up at 6 a.m.on a long weekend, brewing coffee that tastes faintly of regret, and deciding, Yes, today is the day I watch a Matt Damon–Ben Affleck movie before sunrise. This is not self-care.This is survival. This is what adulthood has reduced […]
Let me tell you, there’s a unique kind of helplessness that comes when your voice is “detained” by laryngitis. I’m not just talking about a little raspy whisper—I mean full-on, out-of-commission, barely-able-to-mutter-a-word laryngitis. I’m not going to lie to you. I was prepared to hate it. Well, hate is a strong word I don’t much care for. Look, I don’t hate many films. I used to. But I have mellowed a bit and can usually find at least one redeeming factor […]
“That’s a bad guy car”. Yes, it was and that was a funny line. Yet, not many people laughed in the movie theatre. Despite that, I liked the Pokemon: Detective Pikachu movie. I am going to admit a few things. First, I do not know anything about the […]
I came in “late” to the Marvel Comics Universe. I didn’t catch Iron Man when it first came out. Although, I heard from everyone how great that movie was -especially for a superhero film. And, that this was truly Robert Downey Jr’s comeback. I wanted him to succeed. […]
