Here’s a short and sweet review of the new Pixar movie. It was cute. Not great. But good enough to warrant watching with your son and hugging afterwards.

My son liked the movie although he thought he thought there were too many dream sequences. However, he pointed to one scene where he noted that would probably be me: The overprotective mother. I loved sharing that moment with him.

I also liked the overall message of being true to oneself. Kids, and adults alike, need to hear this message. And, if such a message comes in the form of a sea creature who is adorable, so be it.
