Where did she go?

 

Everyone in the neighborhood knew her as the lady with the shopping cart.  Everywhere and anytime she could be found with it. Her idea was that one never would know when you needed to carry stuff that was just to much to bear.  It seemed too close to a metaphor for anyone to question her any further on her exhibited fully-quirkiness.

One day the skies opened widely and rained for days. The streets flooded and everyone pulled out their rafts.  Why everyone had rafts was beyond this storyteller’s comprehension.

Then the rain stopped and they looked out across the newly-created banks. There stood three shopping carts.

Where did she go? And who were thee others?
