I’m a very superstitious person. And, I do get the heebie jeebies on any Friday the 13th. When I used to travel a lot for work, I made a very concerted effort to fly on said day. In the event that I had to indeed fly on a Friday the 13th, I had every good luck charm on me that one could think of. And, I said more than one prayer.
I’m not just scared of Friday the 13th in theory. Sadly, my beloved pekingese (who I considered to be my first baby) died on a Friday, the 13th. So, the day is also a sorrowful one for me.
Thankfully, there are only two Friday the 13ths in 2023, and we just got through the first one. The next one is in spooktober (October). There’s some breathing room here.
Happily, I can report that on tjis recently passed Friday the 13th, I only had one weird thing happen. I had a glass on the coffee table filled with a cocktail. I was looking elsewhere when, out of nowhere, the glass broke and shattered. No one had touched it. No one had moved the table. No one had even been looking at it. The glass just shattered. I was spooked for a second. Then lamented I had no more cocktail left to drink. Worse things can happen. Here’s to the next Friday, the 13th, being just as uneventful.
