One can wonder whether it’s possible to run out of words
The dictionary, as it exists, has many words to share
Yet, a moment of silence erases the words
Meaningless, unintelligible
Words can become jumbled
Yet, words may be all we have
The world needs to be remembered and described
Words need to be constructed and deconstructed
On the kitchen floor, the scrabble tiles sit
And, a weary mind wonders
The future can have many words for the past
But the present is muted
To break through the fog, you’ve fot to bite down

“Poets, priests and politicians
Have words to thank for their positions
Words that scream for your submission
And no one’s jamming their transmission
‘Cause when their eloquence escapes you
Their logic ties you up and r8pes you
De do do do, de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do, de da da da
Their innocence will pull me through
De do do do, de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do, de da da da
They’re meaningless and all that’s true”

Yes, words abound, and so does the confusion words convey. We humans presume words elevate us above the rest of nature, but this is self-deception.
To listen to nature, or even to the silence of human structures, tells of wordless histories revealed by their current presence.
And I’m confusing myself with words, but the birds outside my door are chattering happily with their own words that convey feelings of joy on this beautiful spring day.
