Through many of the alerts and notifications I get through countless applications, I was reminded that I had the wonderful experience of seeing a most beautiful rainbow. That rainbow was in my happy spot of Hawaii. That state is truly paradise. And, seeing this photo made me happy and wistful. I felt grand nostalgia for a time when happiness was embodied within simplicity. A rainbow. I didn’t expect a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. But I did see potential and raw beauty.

I look at this rainbow from nine years ago and I look at the traffic and smog currently surrounding me. I feel the heat but not its corresponding blessing. I want to see a rainbow. I want to feel awe.

I have similar memories of a rainbow I saw in Ireland. Didn’t bother looking for the pot of gold. The display was gold enough.
