As they neared the entrance to the tunnel she had this eerie sense of dejavu. She could taste the air and hear the wind. Meanwhile, her bones were acutely aware they had been here before.
It was like this dream in which she had lived it all before. It was all familiar yet strikingly distant from her here and now.
She closed her eyes and listened to the laughter all around her. It was soothing.
But then it all stopped. There was no music. No voices. No train engine sounds. They were inside the tunnel and all had just ceased to be. Yet the train continued.
They came out the other side of the tunnel and they were at the edge of the earth.
