The night was dark and damp. She tried to not focus on the darkness as she felt her way across the room. She pushed back towards the wall and it seared her skin. The sounds of the night were getting louder and chillier in the frightening, oppressive air. Something sinister was occuring. Her morning bones warned her so. Her breathing was shallow as she made her way to the bed. She slept sitting up. Once daylight broke she went down to the yard and gasped.
