Oh, how I need a shiny distraction
A peace of mind to boot
A serenity capsule
A moment to pause
A detour just about now would be nice
The melancholia hanging on
Whispers to myself to put me at ease
Push back all from my tired eyes
I’ve set in motion a chain reaction
And my mind’s mind is in jagged pursuit
I need a pill to grab the shrapnel
But have to imagine the applause
A distraction would surely be nice
For we are all just barely hanging on
Must deep freeze the bad to put me at ease
And ice pack my eyes
Time to move on from fear
Time to chuckle and best
Time to just be in distraction mode
Need a moment to pause
