October Is Showing Off

October may be shaping up to be epic.

Five Fridays.

FIVE.

Five opportunities to sigh dramatically at the end of the workweek and declare, I have survived another one.

And five Saturdays!

Five glorious little permission slips to sleep, rest, party, wander, do absolutely nothing, or do everything because apparently we have been given an extra Saturday by the universe.

October is showing off.

There’s supposed to be a meteor shower, which sounds exciting provided the meteors remain in the sky and don’t take this whole “shower” thing too literally.

There’s a Hunter’s Moon.

Because apparently the moon needed a name that sounds like it owns a crossbow.

And then Halloween falls on a Saturday.

YAH!

This is important.

Because Halloween on a Saturday means no one has to decide whether dressing up for work is appropriate.

Although, let’s be honest, I like dressing up for the office.

Give me a costume, a little lipstick, some ridiculousness and a workplace that has to pretend this is perfectly normal.

And then, just to make things extra spooky, the clocks fall back on Halloween.

We get an extra hour.

On Halloween.

Honestly, even Time itself is getting into character.

So perhaps October will be epic.

Or perhaps October will simply be October with five Fridays, five Saturdays, a moon, some meteors, costumes, darkness, an extra hour and a collective psychological exhale.

Either way, I’m ready.

Bring on the spooky.

And the Saturdays.

Mostly the Saturdays.
