I have been meaning to write about my Guatemala trip, but I have been sidetracked and distracted. I thoroughly enjoyed my random trip to Guatemala. And, it was random. But random trips can be the best experience at times.
The colors were vibrant. The people were a delight. And, their little ice cream trucks a blast. It was a random trip with random delights. I will be sure to write more when time permits. It’s the same problem everyone else has. You take a vacation. Then, you need another vacation from all the work you just had to make up for. For now, enjot this cute little ice cream vending “truck”. I wish we had these in the Bronx growing up.

“Gelato typically offers fewer calories, less sugar and lower fat content per serving than ice cream. The typical 3.5 oz. serving of vanilla gelato contains 90 calories and 3 grams of fat, compared to 125 calories and 7 grams of fat in the average vanilla ice cream.”

I grew up in Mexico City. Mother would NEVER let us eat anything from a street vendor – she suspected a lack of sanitation, and, of course, there was no certification process (possibly excepting greasing the right policeman’s palm). She was probably right, but it left me suspecting all the foods they sold, and Mexico is FULL of street vendors.
