There is a lot going on in the world right now. To say the least. The year 2020 has just been one shock to the system after another. Our minds keep spinning wondering what’s next. As I sat the other night on the couch, I caught some supposed breaking news regarding the President. Breaking news really isn’t breaking anymore. But that’s a whole other story.
What struck me about that news segment as well as several others that both preceeded and followed it, was the fact that everyone seems to be recording everyone. I have heard of personal acquaintances doing it. I see it on the nightly news. It’s such an odd feeling.
Decades ago a recording nearly brought down a president. Nowadays recordings are bolstering book deals and propping up fame. It makes you wonder if any conversation is truly anymore personal, intimate, and an expression of friendship.
