I watched a sad, sad movie last night
It made me pause and ponder
I longed and then I dreamt
I reached for the field of lillies
I awoke to a dreary realism
Remembering that it no longer mattered
That note, that bloody note
It changed everything and nothing at the same time
Enhancing the already baked in sadness
No point in singing a note of melancholy

Lovely – sometimes a sad movie helps put things in perspective.

Indeed sad movies can be cathartic. Same, i find, with horror films. Go figure
