I love technology. I love phone apps. They help make my life easier. As I write this on my WordPress App, I am watching Amazon Prime on my phone while waiting for my groceries to be delivered. What an advanced world. Well, I’m still waiting of the Jetsons version of the world to come to fruition while scared BattleStar Galactica (or Terminator) may come to be. It needs to be a fine balance.
Despite my love of technology, it does occasionally annoy me. Why must Netflix constantly ask me whether I am still there? What if I am not, but my dog is? He most certainly deserves some good Netflix time. Or so it is in my household. I feel like Netflix is just being nosy and I wish I could just tell it to mind its business.
Now, for many the microwave is just an everyday part of life and no longer seen as the great technological advancement that it once was. However, it changed the course of how society functions. It most certainly plays a large role in my day-to-day life.
With that said, my microwave bothers me. It beeps at me constantly nagging me to pick up the microwaved food. See, I will put something in there to heat and I walk away to do other things. I have a lot going on in my life. I don’t have time to babysit it. It should quietly be done and let me come to it when I’m ready. No need to rush me. Obviously, if I am super hungry I’ll be eagerly waiting for it to finish. In such an instance I may even hover. We have many people in our lives who will readily nag at us. Our technology need not be there yet. We shall see once we become the Jetsons.
