Karma Has a Long Memory

Do you believe in karma?

I believe in karma.

Always have. No hesitation. No existential debate. I don’t need to see the cosmic spreadsheet to know somebody is keeping receipts.

What we put out into the universe comes back.

Sometimes gently.
Sometimes loudly.
Sometimes with the subtlety of a brick through a window.

Karma is the ultimate boomerang. And frankly, some things come back with interest. Maybe threefold.

We cannot go around hurting people, lying, manipulating, betraying, humiliating, or generally behaving like an asshole and expect absolutely no repercussions. Eventually, something circles back.

Not necessarily because the universe is sitting on a cloud plotting revenge. More likely because behavior has consequences. We create patterns. We shape relationships. We teach people how to treat us. We become the energy we repeatedly put into the world.

And I think karma is often sitting quietly at the root of our behavior.

People worry about what will come back to them.

They should.

Because eventually, the things we do to other people have a funny way of becoming things we experience ourselves.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Or, more of a PsychologistMimi language.

Don’t throw sh*t into the universe and then act surprised when it smells funny on the way back.

Karma has a long memory.

And apparently, excellent delivery service.

I welcome your thoughts
