Take a stroll. Ride the subway. Get on the ferry. Hail a cab. Bike the narrow lanes. Whatever mode it may be that you travel through New York, you are bound to be entertained in some way. Every New York city sidewalk holds the potential of providing a free show, of sorts. Take a camera and see what you find.

I loved living in New York (Queens) for two years. I walked or rode subways everywhere, lived quite well on a pittance salary, and had visitors every weekend. I saw a lot of theatre and a lot of the city while squiring my company around.
Then I got tired of the noise, the dirt, the lack of trees and green, and looked for the opposite extreme, in the mountains of Colorado.
