Lights shine brightly on our dear city
Twin towers were my neighbors
I passed the dust day in and day out
Rubble upon rubble
Until it wasn’t
New foundations
Names etched forever more
But the dna lingers
The loss still profound
Innocence lost
See something, say something
Always on alert
Code red, orange or yellow doesn’t matter
But to all, a wish for calm, peace, and love
