All right, I’m ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille

Dogs are one of the best creatures on earth. And my dog brings much happiness to our household and lives.  And each dog most definitely has its own personality. My previous dog was a total diva and I just adored that about him. I was willing to indulge his diva persona. And why shouldn’t I? Dogs are meant to be pampered. My current dog Winston is not a diva at all., although he has a bit of a problem with other dogs. We will work on his socialization going forward but I truly believe he is being overly protective of me.  Which is super sweet and something for which I am grateful.  Particularly at this point in time in my life.

I am getting ready to go back on a different stage and am wondering how I will present myself.  As I am beginning a new journey in life, I keep joking stating to people  “All right, Mr. DeMille, I’m ready for my close-up.”   It is my self-deprecating joke at my diva sense.  Where are all the cameras as I ready my pose?

While he is not a diva, Winston has an interesting characteristic to him. While my previous dog was very doglike. My current dog Winston, at times, looks very human. I know that sounds odd.  But quite often when we photograph him with other people he blends in to the scene. meaning, he blends in as a human.  It is quite curious and eerie at times. He is very photogenic in that sense. It is as if he is always ready for his close-up. searching for Mr DeMille.

His human face and loving dog nature provide much comfort to me and my family. And it is with great joy that we approach this holiday season with this little fellow by our side.

  1. Aw, the picture of your dog reminds me of one I had for several years named Phydeaux, pronounced, of course, “Fido.” Phydeaux was pure love on four legs and a disheveled furry coat. As a family member, he was a very important part of our daily lives. Still miss you, old guy.
