Not letting pedestrians run me over

Today I will be engaging in a play of words. I am a pedestrian. Well, I identify with pedestrians as I have yet and never will have a driver’s license. Even in Los Angeles I am surviving without a car. It can be done! I am loving proof. But, I am digressing just a little bit off topic. Let me veer back.

Everywhere I have lived, from New York to Boston to Atlanta, I have walked the sidewalks in some manner to get to work or the market.  In New York, we also have those that identify as “straphangers”; those being standing passengers in a bus or train.  Straphangers have much power and many campaigns in New York. The train and bus is everything to us. But, I am digressing just a little bit off topic.   Let me veer back.

You got that I am a pedestrian and a public transportation advocate.  I will note, that Los Angelinos are horrible pedestrians.   But that’s neither here nor there.  I am, in general, a big fan of pedestrians.

However, I am not a fan of the pedestrians in my life currently.   And by pedestrians, I mean those individuals that are uninspired, tedious, tiresome and willingly unimaginative.

Now, in our current world of chaos, is not the time to be wedded to the same old, same old. Now, as a collective, is not the time to be complacent. Now is not the time to live in a past that was never really that glorious. Sadly, there are some individuals that are pedestrian to the point that I just want to cry from the pain my brain is being subjected to. It’s like that scene in the movie Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown where one of the main characters is crying because of a  ridiculous outfit someone else is wearing.

I feel like laughing outloud at all the craziness. Of course, If I were to do so, I would then be labelled as the one with issues. Oh my. What’s a hip girl like myself to do with so many “pedestrians”? For sure, I have to keep from being run over. However, I need to be more proactive. Excise them from my life. Box them in. Hang out with my adorable doggie who is anything but pedestrian.  Yes, I have my happy places and people in my life. And that is where my focus will be.
