I’m scared to look
To see deep inside
Afraid of the cracks I might find
Afraid of the pain that will rise
I’m afraid to taste
To bite off more than there is
Afraid everything will crumble
Afraid everything will gnash
I’m afraid to feel
To touch the remains
Afraid of the chewed up pieces
Afraid of the jagged edges
I’m afraid to try again
To eat another piece of your cake
But its sweetness is tempting
And I long for some sugar
