When I am gone what will you keep?
Will it be my golden heels?
Perhaps my knick knacks from when you were five?
Will you remember me day in and day out?
Quiet
When its quiet will you see my face?
Quiet
Will you say my name?
I’m scared no traces will be scoured
I need to know, to calm the mind
When the voices are loud will you seek refuge in my memory?
It is only human to wonder
It is only human to be so pained
It is only human to want to be with you as you walk
Quiet
No sounds stir up the mind
Will you see my face when the air is still?
I will stay with you if you let me
I will quell the fears
I will hold your hand
What will you keep?
What will serve as a balm to your heart?
What will you see?
Take me with you
The eternal question of our ephemeral nature. Very nice!

Beautiful post. I have always felt closer to someone after they are gone, like they are everywhere now. I think we remember most how someone made us feel, as Maya Angelou so beautifully stated.
