We listlessly got in a car and drove and drove
Freely with no clear destination in mind
Other than wanting to find a restorative spirit trove
Upon Manoa Falls trail we stumbled
And then we merrily toiled and slid
Ascending the trail that was muddy but not disgruntled
Our shiny white sneakers were finally worn through
Our flip flops cast aside
As we walked through mud fondue
Liberated and liberating
We heartily embraced this way to rejuvenate the spirit
In the land of giant trees our brains were shimmering
And our feet humming like a rappers delight sonnet
