199 Posts Later and Still Standing

Why do you blog?



So here we are. This marks my 199th blog post in a row.  Yes, 199! That’s consistency, dedication, maybe obsession, or maybe just the quiet sanity I get from tapping out my words in this cozy corner of the internet. Honestly, a few years back, I had more than 500 days in a row and then hit a speed bump. But, I’m doing well again. Meanwhile, over on Twitter (or X, or whatever we’re calling the blue bird graveyard these days), I’ve been acting like a groundhog. I’ve been poking my head up once a month, peeping out with a random tweet, then scurrying back underground.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still there. At 2 a.m. most nights, I scroll myself into slumber. It’s like ASMR, except instead of soothing ocean waves, it’s conspiracies. This past weekend’s gem? Rumors about Trump’s passing and the Pentagon Pizza Meter. Yes, apparently the Pentagon has a pizza dial that’s supposed to tell us something about something. Honestly, the rabbit holes have rabbit holes, and I’ve stopped trying to follow the threads.

And yet, here in blogger-land? It’s tranquil. I’m writing. I’m breathing. I’m not deciphering pizza meters or attending Skynet countdowns (though, let’s be real, that August 29th date still tickles my brain). OK. I do believe the robots will take over.

But for now, my real chaos? My three dogs, who insist that I stay grounded. Literally, by tripping me, barking at ghosts, and demanding constant kisses. They keep me on my toes, and in return, I keep showing up here, writing.

So, while Twitter spirals in pizza-fueled conspiracies, I’ll keep on with my streak. Post #199 today. Calm. Reflective. Slightly irreverent. And maybe tomorrow, I’ll hit 200. No pizza meter required.
