Taco Tuesday and the Tale of Gary the Goat: Embracing the Unpredictable

Tuesdays have always felt like the forgotten middle child of the week—neither the fresh start of Monday nor the hopeful anticipation of Friday. But today, this random Tuesday, was about to change that narrative in the most peculiar way.

The morning started with my usual routine, Florence and the Machine serenading me as I stumbled through breakfast prep. But a weird news alert caught my eye: “Town Discovers Missing Goat Living as Yoga Instructor.” Yes, you read that right. A goat named Gary, who had been missing for weeks, was found leading impromptu yoga classes in the local park. His favorite pose? Downward goat, naturally. It was so bizarre it had me laughing out loud, a rare feat for a Tuesday morning.

Inspired by Gary’s unconventional embrace of a new role, I decided it was high time I embraced a tradition I’ve always skipped—Taco Tuesday. Despite living in a city where you can find tacos on every corner, I’ve somehow never partaken in this weekly celebration. Determined to change that, I texted a few friends to join me for tacos after work. Their responses ranged from enthusiastic to incredulous.

Work was the usual blur, but the thought of Gary the Goat and my taco plans kept me going. As the clock struck six, I rounded up my friends and headed to the nearest taqueria. The vibe was lively, the margaritas flowing, and the tacos? Absolutely worth the hype. Between bites of carne asada and laughter with friends, I realized what I had been missing.

This random Tuesday, with its yoga-teaching goat and impromptu taco adventure, reminded me that even the most mundane days can hold unexpected joy. Maybe it’s time to embrace more Taco Tuesdays and keep an eye out for the weird and wonderful. If Gary can lead yoga, surely I can make the most of a Tuesday. Cheers to tacos, laughter, and the delightful randomness of life!

Now, what part of this was too unlike me? What part was a bit too far fetch? Cheers. Mimi
