Take these dreams away, I beg, take them all.
The haunting images that rise and fall,
In the shadows of night, they come to play,
But leave me trembling by the light of day.
Take away the realness, the touch, the sound,
These phantom echoes that keep me bound.
They linger, they taunt, with cruel delight,
Chasing me down in the dark of night.
Take away the feelings that grip so tight,
The racing heart, the endless fight.
For when I wake, the tears do flow,
And I’m left to face the dawn’s cruel glow.
Take these dreams away, let them be gone,
Leave me in peace with the rising dawn.
For in their wake, only sorrow stays,
Take these dreams away, please, take them away.
