How do you waste the most time every day?
One of the easiest questions to answer is about how I waste time. Short answer: meetings. And, I can assure you I am not the only one who experiences and feels this. That is why there are so many coffee cups and mugs that state there was yet another work meeting that could have been an email. And, most meetings end in a lack of resolution of some problems. Issues get tabled quite often, which makes one wonder why bring them to the table in the first place.
And, trust me, nothing works to make them more productive. Consensus agenda is not really implemented. Walking meetings dont allow for note-taking practices. Timed agendas end up with reporting out of inconsequential materials. I can go on.
However, there’s another waste of time, and that is the act of constant worrying about wasting time. We wallow in such thoughts. We fret about it. Yet we worry that we should do something better with our time. Even in my down time, I at times, feel like I’m wasting time.
This is when you know you need a reset button.
