To obey is to subjugate oneself. That is what she had understood all of her life. She wasn’t bad at it. She was rather good, actually. She had been born free of limitations and then at the age of 21 she asked to not be. She wanted to be told what to do and not have to worry about navigating this new world. She was readily helped in that goal all too happily by those surrounding her. Everything ran as clock work.
Then he came into her life.
He stared at her for a month and then he yelled “stop being a doormat”.
And then she answered “yes boss” and moved on with her true, authentic life.
