Here’s my heartfelt PSA: Mental Health Matters

Today is World Mental Health Awareness Day, and let me just say, it couldn’t come at a better time. Honestly, who else feels like we’re all playing an endless game of “Don’t Drop the Ball”—juggling work, family, and the 12,000 tabs we have open in our minds at any given moment?

Mental health is no joke, though we’ve all been guilty of brushing it off, saying “I’m fine” when we’re clearly running on empty. Spoiler alert: you don’t have to be “fine” all the time. We need to honor our minds just as much as we do our bodies. If we can book dentist appointments and oil changes, why can’t we schedule some mental health tune-ups, too?

Today is about recognizing that it’s okay to not be okay. It’s about taking stock of how we’re doing, asking ourselves if we’ve been kind to our mental health, and checking in with others. We all have our unique struggles—whether it’s stress, anxiety, or the never-ending Monday feeling that sometimes lasts the whole week. But here’s the good news: we’re not in this alone.

So, here’s my heartfelt PSA: Reach out, talk to someone, even if it’s just to say, “Hey, this day was a dumpster fire.” Laugh where you can, breathe when you need to, and remember, you’re human. And for today? Let’s honor that. Happy World Mental Health Day—take care of you.
