As I did my morning exercise routine, I listened to music as I always do. It then hit me. There are certain lyrics that stick with me that I even dare to sing out loud on the exercise path. As I exercised this morning, I took those lyrics, compiling them into a poem of early morning thoughts. Here it goes.
Gonna was that man, right out of my hair
Seems like you and me keep losing connection
Dance in the living room, love with an attitude
This is not really happening, you bet your life it is
I know more than I knew before
The passing of time leaves empty lives; Waiting to be filled
I didn’t rest, I didn’t stop
Look at your watch now
You’re still a super hot female, take a chance
We threw our pennies into a jar, what are we saving for?
I’m not the only traveler who has not repaid his debt
Don’t know what I’m supposed to do
Haunted by the ghost of you
Drownin’ the pain is better
With somebody else who got problems
We ain’t gonna solve ’em
But misery loves company
Don’t forget the songs that saved your lives
