There are some people, that regardless of how crappy of a person they are, no one holds them accountable. They are not told to stop. They are are allowed to treat others horribly while they gloat with some odd sense of joy. It’s as if their joy increases tenfold as they activitely work to decrease yours.

These are joy thieves! They exist. They are like some odd animation character out in the universe walking about with their invisible wand of joy zapping.

Many years ago, my word of the year was joy. I recycled it this year. And, I need to keep reminding myself. I can’t let others take away or control my joy.

Make joy your true north. And, fight off the joy thieves. Don’t let them win.
