The secrets would remain buried

So many words. So many images. Yet, the building stood emptied for years on end. It dared anyone to enter and say a word. No thoughts or feelings could be contained. It served as a vessel for corrupted, yet innocent energy.

What more could it be? It was the place of one of the bloodiest massacres ever. Yet, it would never appear in any history books. No newspaper dare to even whisper the names of those who burned and disappeared.

She got back in the car and never looked back. Having survived it once, she wasn’t sure she could again. The secrets would remain buried. She would remain a fractured sense of herself.
