Kate Middleton finally got her prince- Prince William. But she sure waited a long time. At least seemingly long per the media, family and friends. Well, actually a decade of dating can be long. Supposedly, when they got back together after their second breakup, they made a secret pact to get married. It was a secret so no one knew and people still teased her for hanging on so long. They gave her the cruel nicknane of “Waity Katie.”

Honestly, I don’t find it to be such a cruel nickname but supposedly she was bothered by it. And, the media named her so as to be cruel. But there is power in the name. When attempts are made to define you, sometimes you just have to take that definition and make it your own. Gain strength from it and ignore the noise.

Her waity nickname to me means signifies patience and assurance. Sometimes you have to trust that what is to come will occur. You have to tap into a well of patience that in turns actually both empowers and emboldens you.

I myself have had to shoulder grand buckets of patience. And, I will have to shoulder even more in the months to come. I must do so despite a great deal of anguish to come. But I will for the long game- a better outcome. I will have to be waity mimi. And, I will be ok with that as my inner strength will shine through.

Perseverance- Never underestimate its power in you.
