I was drowning, floundering, and crying
Yet there was nothing I could do
It was all out of bounds
No way to stem the tide
Hopes rose
Hopes deflated
Was sadly looking at the bottom of my shoes
I scraped off the dirt
But it wouldn’t come off
But today I fought back against myself and won
One day and one moment at a time
Can’t get ahead of myself
‘Cause tomorrow it can all crash again
The struggle continues
The love is resounding
And in love, strength
