Everything seems to run on the power of circles. Can’t get from point A to point B without some kind of circular motion. However, life can truly throw you curve balls. Further, life can truly come full circle. That has been my life to date. Growing up, I encountered many curve balls. I got a scholarship to attend a school year abroad program but couldn’t readily get from where I was to my final destination. Nothing is straight up easy. I have come to understand and accept it. I wish life were easier but it was not meant to be. I can definitely try to make life easier for my son going forward. However, he will have his own share of curveballs to face. We can’t shield ourselves or others from the curveballs life throws our way. He will be stronger, I hope, because of them.
Meanwhile, I have come to find everything is interconnected, albeit not necessarily in a linear manner. It amazes me that I can arrive to a meeting where I am ostensibly meeting someone for the first time and I come to find that person was actually a past colleague within my work circle. I moved 3,000 miles to come face to face with people I had met many moons ago 3,000 miles away.
I can’t help but think everything is circular. Although, it doesn’t mean I’m spinning my wheels. Its just nothing has a beginning nor an end. In that vein, the circle is beautiful for what it can represent.
Mankind is not a circle with a single center but an ellipse with two focal points of which facts are one and ideas the other. –Victor Hugo
When you want to try your luck, you give a wheel a spin.
A circle is the reflection of eternity. It has no beginning and it has no end – and if you put several circles over each other, then you get a spiral. Maynard James Keenan
