Fourteen years ago, I started a blog with absolutely no plan.
No content calendar.
No brand strategy.
No “voice and tone” guide approved by a committee of people who say things like “circle back.”
Just vibes.
And yet, here we are. Fourteen years later. Still typing. Still observing. Still mildly annoyed by humanity in ways that feel both deeply personal and broadly universal.
I truly had no idea I had this kind of staying power. I thought maybe I’d write a few posts, get distracted, wander off, and never come back like half the people who say “let’s grab dinner soon.” But no. I stayed. I wrote. I kept pressing publish on thoughts that ranged from insightful to unhinged to “did I really just say that out loud?”
Turns out, there is no shortage of material when you are a human living among other humans.
There have been rants.
There have been poems.
There have been observations so random they surprised even me.
There has been zero outline and even less of an agenda.
And maybe that’s the point.
This blog has never been about perfection or polish. It’s been about noticing. About reacting. About making meaning out of the everyday absurdity of being alive. About gifting myself the space to think out loud.
Fourteen years in, I still don’t know exactly what comes next.
And honestly? That feels right.
Because if this blog has taught me anything, it’s that the next thought is always coming. The next rant is always brewing. The next “wait, is it just me?” is always around the corner.
So I’ll keep showing up.
No plan.
No agenda.
Let’s see what comes next.

I like that. Noticing. reacting, responding… not just hearing the noise, but listening to individual voices, weighing up and gaining meaning. Thanks, Mimi.

I only post on my blogs, prideschildren dot com (for my books), and liebjabberings dot wordpress dot com (for my writing and everything else), when I have something specific, usually about my writing novels, that needs to be worked out and recorded (my process is my own).
But I admire your perseverance, your observance capacity, and the sheer fun you have sometimes – and usually read, often respond in kind if I have anything to add.
Keep it up – seems to suit you.
Let me know if you read mainstream fiction and would like to see mine.
