Some people treat your emotional energy like it’s on tap. Unlimited refills. Always available. Open 24/7 like a neon-lit diner in the Bronx. And the worst part? They never deposit. Just constant withdrawals.
Suddenly, you’re left drained, annoyed, and questioning all your life choices, including answering that one text that said “Hey, can I talk to you real quick?” (Spoiler: it was not quick.)
Let me be clear: I am not a bank. I do not offer overdraft protection. And starting now, I charge interest—in the form of boundaries and quiet ghosting.
Note to self: “Protect your peace like it’s your last piece of chocolate. Because it kinda is.”
