Curiosity Killed the Cat, But Satisfaction Brought It Back

What are you curious about?

Curiosity may have killed the cat, but let’s be honest—satisfaction brought it back. And frankly, I’ve always been the cat that just couldn’t resist poking my nose into life’s mysteries. No, I’m not nosy (okay, maybe a little), but I’ve got this burning desire to know the full picture, to uncover the truths lurking beneath the surface, and to understand the context that makes the world tick.

Maybe that’s why I became a psychologist. There’s something irresistibly intriguing about peeling back the layers of human behavior, like getting a sneak peek at the mechanics of life. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve wanted to know how the sausage is made, metaphorically speaking. That drive has propelled my career and helped me navigate the wonderfully messy, complex tapestry of human interactions.

I’m the type of person who, when traveling, doesn’t just want to see the postcard-perfect landmarks. I want to know the underbelly, the hidden stories, the gritty realities that give a place its soul. It’s not enough to just stroll through the streets—I need to understand what makes them hum.

Of course, being a curious soul isn’t without its pitfalls. Sometimes you dig too deep and find things you wish you hadn’t. There are hard lessons and uncomfortable truths, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything. Life is infinitely more interesting when you approach it with wide-eyed wonder, ready to soak in every detail.

I’m always encouraging others to embrace curiosity too. It’s like adding a splash of color to a black-and-white world. So, go ahead—ask questions, seek the truth, and dive into the unknown. Sure, you might get into a little trouble, but that’s where all the best stories come from, isn’t it?

  1. I have zero energy. What curiosity I have gets channeled into the research for my novels.

The rest of the world needs to just function so I don’t have to worry about it.

But, like any homeschooling parent, I had to KNOW about a lot of things before the kids did, and then find ways of all of us enjoying the hunt – with the extra benefit of watching them learn. Little sponges, they were.
