death

For now, I linger, in memory’s grasp

The branches are all strewn about,
In chaos, nature’s silent shout.
My heart weeps knowing all that you tried,
Every effort, every tear, every sigh.

In that one moment we lost each other all,
In that one moment my humanity went numb.
In that one moment you fell down,
A silent collapse, without a sound.

No pity needed, no need for regret,
Yet in this sorrow, I can’t forget.
The birds are chirping, a melody sweet,
Life moves on, yet I’m incomplete.

The grass was always greener on the other side,
A tempting vision where dreams reside.
But now I am lost, adrift in this space,
Seeking solace, a familiar face.

The branches lay scattered, yet life renews,
Through seasons’ change, in morning dew.
Though my heart weeps and paths diverge,
In time, perhaps, we’ll find the courage to emerge.

For now, I linger, in memory’s grasp,
Feeling the weight of moments past.
Yet hope stirs gently, like birds in flight,
Guiding me forward to the light.
