Writing is not static

What do you enjoy most about writing?

Writing is an outlet. It’s my friend. It’s my pal. It’s my confidant. It’s my confidence builder. Words can be true and can serve as escapism. Words can enlighten. They can obscure. Writing provided comfort to my mother. She wrote poems mostly. Writing provided a way out. Yet, there is still growth to be had. Writing is not static.

  1. So why do we write? Why do we want to convey our story and personal perspective on reality to the outside world? Some might say they want to be heard, as otherwise no one is interested in them. Others might feel a responsibility to leave behind a legacy. Without a doubt, all valid reasons to be considered, but to be truthful to ourselves, we only write for ourselves as it is the only way to stop the voice in our head, to liberate its message, its story or whatever kind of anxiety forcing it to find a fitting formulation for what is visualised and felt.
