What do you listen to while you work?
Some people have the grand luxury to be able to listen to music while working. And, what a luxury that is. In my mind. There was a time when I could crank the music loud and type away. Think away. Music is so important to a creative work process and product, I believe.
There was a time in which my typing would actually follow a melody. Nowadays, I don’t have such a luxury. My calendar can be booked quite often so as to not even have a bathroom break. And, that is brutal. As a result, I can’t listen to music as I work. I miss my music. My throat wishes for a reprieve. Please, please, please let me drown out the sound of my voice to myself.
When I have a meeting after yet another meeting, I tend to do a lot of talking. As such, instead of music, I have to listen to myself all day.
