A do-over or a fast forward: 2020

We are in the middle of September of a year that has either gone by too fast in that it barely existed or too slowly in that we are stick in a neverending morbid loop. Both perspectives are right. This year barely happened. Yet everything, or almost everything, that could happen occurred. We are on this upside rollercoaster in the midst of a tornado. Or a hurricane. Pick whichever suits you. Regardless, this year has been unfathomable and unrelenting.

Now, we are in the ninth month of said year. Looking back or, rather standing still in this moment reflexively, would one do this year over exactly as it was if we were given a chance yo change it up in time. Think about New Year’s even 2019. Would you want to just skip this year in its entirety or would you get it started and just skip ahead like that Adam Sandler movie Remote Control?

  1. 2020 is a learning year. Some are learning, some aren’t. It has allowed us to see things a bit differently and enjoy the good things that we have. Next year, we can all say correctly, that hindsight is 2020.

  2. I agree that it is a learning year. I think when extraordinary things happen, you learn a lot about yourself and others, and 2020 is certainly contributing to that clarity.
