“Destiny has two ways of crushing us: by refusing our wishes and by fulfilling them.” This quote has been rattling around in my mind, echoing the themes that have danced through my head over the years. Destiny, that fickle friend, has a way of toying with our hopes and dreams, sometimes delivering exactly what we wanted—and other times, leaving us with the bitter taste of regret.
Looking back, I’ve written about the times when life threw me curveballs, forcing me to adapt, rethink, and sometimes even laugh at the absurdity of it all. Take, for instance, the time I wished for a quiet, uneventful day, only to end up in the middle of chaos that no amount of planning could have prevented. Or when I worked tirelessly to achieve a goal, only to realize that the success I’d been chasing came with a set of consequences I hadn’t anticipated.
Destiny has a wicked sense of humor, doesn’t it? It’s like asking for a peaceful night’s sleep, only to be kept awake by the silence that’s too loud. Or, more poignantly, it’s that moment when you finally get what you thought you wanted, only to realize it wasn’t what you needed at all.
In my journey as a psychologist and a storyteller, I’ve learned that destiny is not just about what happens to us, but how we respond to it. The wishes we cling to may be granted or denied, but it’s in the aftermath—the picking up of the pieces, the reimagining of our path—that we truly find our way.
So, I’ll keep seeking, laughing, and navigating this wild ride. After all, destiny may crush us, but it’s also what shapes us into who we’re meant to be. And that’s a story worth telling.

I think that we attract things that we are supposed to learn from, and if we reject them, we get chaos. We also get chaos if we vehemently pursue things that are not meant for us.
