A non-fictional band has a top 10 hit. Stevie Nicks wrote a rave review of a Amazon series that is a fake documentary of a fake band. However, many would say that tbe Six -Featuring Daisy Jones- could be based on the great, legendary band Fleetwood Mac. I don’t know or recall all the Fleetwood Mac drama other than I believe there was a lot of relationship partner swapping, and they all wrote songs about each that they they forced each other to record and sing. And, in turn, those songs became huge hits. Even till this day.
The group dynamics don’t intrigue me as much as each individual who made up the sum whole.
Just from the outset, you feel the vibe and hurt. “Walking Barefoot” is the theme song. When you walk barefoot, you can feel the heat and burn of the sidewalk and sand. You can feel the prickly nature of the grass. You can get shards of glass embedded in your feet. You can also be tickled by the grass. You can also find a cool piece of concrete on which to step. You can feel it all.
The characters in the fictional Amazon band The Six are broken. Togther they could have fixed themselves and been one. However, they were too broken to become one. Even though they clearly completed each other. Sounds like life, eh?
