What a long day

I am truly hoping that I will get some sleep tonight. Actually, a lot of sleep. For me, that’s six hours. I would be ecstatic at seven hours but will happily take six. Sigh. I had one of those days where I did not have downtime. I woke up at seven in the morning to walk the dog and basically kept going through 8 pm the next day. It’s all one big blur at this point. I should note there were four long meetings, a business dinner, a plane flight, and having to deal with an incomprehensible immigration process in a foreign country tucked into this one long day. I think I have met my quota of tasks. Sleep should be one of them now. Oh, to sleep! Oh, to dream. Oh, to just be.

  1. “Hey everybody, don’t you feel that there’s something, but you know
in a moment it is gone.
I live for the day when I can hear people saying that they know and
    they care for everyone
But I feel like I’ve been here for the whole of my life, never knowing
    home.

Been away from home for such a long time,
And got to know this town,
But I don’t seem to matter much to anyone, who’s around
    Is there anybody around?

Every night I walk around the city,
    Seems like I’ll never know,
The feeling of being together when I go.

    It’s a long way.
It’s a long, long, long way there,
    I’m gonna keep on tryin’,
I’m gonna keep on tryin’, yeah,
    I’m gonna keep on tryin’,
I’m gonna keep on tryin’, ah!”
