Today, I have nothing snarky to share: Just my annual gratitude to mom

Today, I have nothing snarky to share. Go figure. Today, I have no mundane anecdote to share in the guise of furthering a larger, deeper conversation. Today, I have no pet peeves to rant and rave about.

Today, instead I present my tradition, where I thank my mother for giving birth to me on this day in May. She gave birth to a Taurus girl who has always been a chatterbox with a story to tell. Or so she always reminded me and encouraged me. She allowed me to be stubborn and to never back away from a just fight.

I wish she was still here so that she could leave me one of her silly happy birthday songs. But I have a feeling she is up there singing. And, I will keep that song in my step today.

And, here’s to hearing my little boy wishing me a happy birthday in his silly, goof-filled, chatterbox self.

Another year has come. Got to make it grand. Thanks to everyone for hanging with me.

  2. I think your mum’s up there, singing happy birthday to her little chatterbox. Sounds like a smart woman, making you into the courageous and stubborn (I often see that as a positive) person you are today. Wishing you a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! 🌷
