Trains, planes and automobiles. Plenty of ways to escape.
As she boarded the bus, she looked at the cast of characters. She imagined that amongst them was a man from another planet. A monster, per chance. Just like in the movie “Men in Black.”
She knew that those magazines had been telling the truth all along. She was just hoping that by taking the bus one of htem would save her from her current life of misery.
Perhaps the guy in the cowboy hat? Nah, it was probably the guy in the shorts and goofy grin. Yes, he would be her savior.

Sounds like the plot of William Inge’s “Bus Stop” which was made into a wonderful film with Marilyn Monroe in what I think was one of her finest roles. Have you seen it?
