The headlights would always be behind her
She paced all day. She was already a fidgety child but that day she was all movement as was her destiny. She was told that they would be leaving forever without a word to anyone. She could only take one suitcase, nothing more. All her trophies, books and everything she was had to be left behind. She was scared but knew it had to be. This was destiny and it wouldn’t wait. They got into the car, one of her few times in one. She looked back only once and saw the headlights that would always be behind her. Always.
