Broken mirrors you feared
Supposed seven years of bad luck
Born with shards for a life path
No escaping the mirrored fate
Despite the shards, you lived
Despite the shards, you gave
Broken mirrors, fractured self
Saw a monster watching in the dark
didn’t run but didn’t stare long
The ghost lingers in the mirror
Despite the shards, you lived
Despite the shards, you gave
Disparate images valiantly commandeered
Down and out but not stuck
Fate incurred your wrath
And broken mirrors, your hate
Despite the shards, you lived
Despite the shards, you gave
Always true to thy self
You bore life’s stretch mark
Always singing a love song
Your whole being couldn’t be clearer
Despite the shards, you lived
You loved
You were
Now you are gone
And I am proudly gathering up the pieces of you
