Cars in sand like the days of our lives
Upon arriving to work she notices that everyone has their head in the sand. A bit like an ostrich but these days a bit like discarded cars that once used to be revving and riding wildly down the highway. She sat at her desk for a split second, then tossed her shoes into a bag and ran. She ran as fast as she could until the blisters popped. Her toes oozed but she would be free. She was not going to watch the sand in the hourglass. She would lift those cars up with her mental strength and be free.

Nice comment on feeling like you need to run away when the rest of the world is not seeing what you are.
