My morning cup of coffee was served with a side of nostalgia

I woke up today still dreaming. I was dreaming of a pool where I could see my happy reflection. I was dreaming of a pool where my son would happily splash around and try to do odd somersaults. My morning cup of coffee was served with a side of nostalgia.

I had just woken up but wanted to go back in time to last summer when we went from one pool to the next. Where my boy didn’t want to get out of the boy and he shivered as we walked back to where we were staying. Wherever that was. It could have been DC, Key West, Ocean City, Puerto Rico. It doesn’t matter. I’d happily go back to those days. I’m sure many would join me.

My day had just begun but I wanted to go back to sleep and be in my happy place. But the day was beginning and I had to let it start. While the day will inevitably be tough, memories can be a comfort. Once I can lay back down down my memories will rise up from the pillow and ease my mind.
